Frequently Asked Questions
1. What should I expect on my first visit?
Initial Evaluation: Your first visit will include a comprehensive evaluation by one of our licensed physical therapists. This assessment helps us understand your medical history, current condition, and functional goals.

Discussion and Assessment: You will discuss your symptoms, previous treatments, and any specific concerns or goals you have. The therapist will perform a series of tests and measurements to evaluate your range of motion, strength, posture, and movement patterns.

Treatment Plan: Based on your evaluation, your therapist will outline a personalized treatment plan. This plan may include a combination of manual therapy, exercise, modalities, and education to help you recover and achieve your goals.

Time Expectations: Plan for approximately 60 minutes for the evaluation and initial treatment.
2. What should I bring to my first appointment?
Insurance Information: Bring your insurance card and any relevant information regarding your coverage.
Identification: A valid ID such as a driver’s license or passport.

Medical Records: If you have any previous imaging (X-rays, MRIs) or reports related to your condition, please bring them.

Referral or Prescription: If your visit was referred by a physician, bring the referral note or prescription for physical therapy.

Arrive early: Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to complete all necessary paperwork and registration. Arriving any later may delay the time your therapist will get to spend with you on your evaluation and treatment.
3. What should I wear to my first appointment?
Comfortable Clothing: Choose loose-fitting, comfortable clothing that allows ease of movement and access to the treatment area. For example, if you are being evaluated for a knee issue, wear shorts or pants that can be easily rolled up.

Appropriate Footwear: Wear supportive, comfortable shoes that you would use to exercise, particularly if the treatment area is at your low back level or below.
4. How can I prepare for my first appointment?
Understand Your Goals: Think about what you hope to achieve through physical therapy. This will help guide the discussion with your therapist.

Be Prepared to Discuss Your Medical History: Have information about your medical history, previous injuries, surgeries, or relevant conditions ready to share.

Ask Questions: If you have any concerns or questions about the treatment process, don't hesitate to ask your therapist. They are there to guide you and ensure you are comfortable and informed.
5. Will I need to do any exercises or activities at home?
Yes, part of your treatment plan may include home exercises to complement the therapy sessions. Your therapist will provide clear instructions and demonstrations on how to perform these exercises safely and effectively.
6. Can I expect to receive any additional information during my visit?
Absolutely. Your therapist will provide you with educational materials, instructions for exercises, and guidance on any modifications to daily activities or ergonomics to support your recovery.
7. How should I follow up after my appointment?
Your therapist will schedule follow-up appointments as needed based on your treatment plan and progress. It’s important to attend these sessions consistently and follow any home exercise recommendations to achieve the best results.
8. What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
